Nano-dendrimer

Nano-dendrimer

PEG core Dendrimer:

Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is the most used polymer and also the gold standard for stealth polymers in the emerging field of polymer-based drug delivery. The properties that account for the overwhelming use of PEG in biomedical applications. The first approved PEGylated products have already been on the market for 20 years. A vast amount of clinical experience has since been gained with this polymer.
The estimation anionic linear globular dendrimer G2 is 50 dollars per gram. This dendrimer would be turned to powder after purification and lyophilizationprocess. This estimation is based on the cost effective ingredients of this dendrimer such as citric acid, PEG, DCC and CaCl2.
The molar mass of PEG used in different pharmaceutical and medical applications ranges from 400 Da to about 50 kDa.7 Citric acids–PEG–citric acid surround and block dendrimers as biocompatible compounds containing first generation (G1), G2, and third generation (G3) in the drug-delivery systems.

Curcumin-conjugate G2 PEG nano-dendrimer (CCND2)

Curcumin (diferuloylmethane) is the chief component of the spice turmeric and is derived from the rhizome of the East Indian plant Curcuma longa. Curcuma longa is a member of the Zingiberacae (ginger) family of botanicals and is a perennial plant that is native to Southeast Asia.Turmeric contains a class of compounds known as the curcuminoids, comprised of curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. Curcumin is the principal curcuminoid and comprises approximately 2-5% of turmeric; it is responsible for the yellow color of the spice as well as the majority of turmeric’s therapeutic effects. Aside from being employed as a flavoring and coloring agent in food, turmeric has also been widely used in Ayurvedic medicine for its anti-oxidant, antiseptic, analgesic, antimalarial and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has been consumed as a dietary supplement for centuries and is considered pharmacologically safe.
Curcumin has proven anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, immunostimulant, antiseptic, and antimutagenic properties. This anti-inflammatory action of turmeric helps to decrease the side effects like gastro intestinal inflammation due to chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
A carboxyl-terminated G2 was used the conjugation will curcumin. Curcumin G2 dendrimer conjugated consisting of consisting of curcumin was covalently bound to the outer groups of the dendrimer via ester bound.
